Whole House Water Filters, Water Cycle, Pure Water

We are surrounded by water. One even can’t imagine that almost everything he/she is looking at consists of water. Taken alone you can find in water two basic chemical elements – hydrogen and oxygen. Generally there are two parts of hydrogen and one part of oxygen in water. Nevertheless it’s quite improbable to find water in a pure form.

Water is one of the ancient structures in the old. It’s much older than people. And water we’re now using might have been used by dinosaurs for their unique purposes long time ago.

But where did water originate?
Scientists still have a dispute on how it actually happened.
Some of them acknowledge that we should thank comets for creating water while colliding with Earth. But comets have some rivals – asteroids. Another idea is that water was gathering inside the Earth till it was finally released.
But why not take into consideration all these facts? No one can say for sure. Water has existed for a very long period and it’s not going to disappear.
The form of water is not stable. It changes within the time. This process of water transformation is called Water Cycle, or to sound more scientific “hydrologic cycle”.

Here are the principles of the Water Cycle:
Water travels from ground to plants, from plants to air, form air to people, oceans, seas, than back to the ground. This process has is endless, at least there hasn’t been an end for many generations.

Heated by the sun water evaporates from Earth, ground, oceans, from everything on the Earth that contains water. Due to the transpiration process water is released form plants. All evaporated water concentrates in clouds. When there’s too much water in the clouds, water starts dripping and in such a way we have rain, snow, etc. After getting on the Earth again, water begins another cycle and goes back to the air, then back to the Earth, and so long and so force.

Water Changes while Circulating
It’s very easy for water to dissolve other elements. While circulating water contacts other substances and becomes “contaminated” with them. Sometimes this “contamination” makes water harmful for people.

The amount of additional elements in water defines how pure water is and how safe it’s for people. There are special indexes that help people to identify safe and unsafe water.
To overcome the contamination water filters are used. Most houses are provided with whole house water filters but if not additional water filters are needed. Great variety of point of use water filters allows everybody to choose the best water filter suitable for their purposes.

Water Purification Technology

There’s a great variety of water purification technologies. Most wide-spread and efficient are distillation, carbon filtration, ion exchange, microfiltration, ultra micro filtration. To choose the suitable water filter it’s vital to know basic facts about water purification. (more...)
